Splurge Vs Save




These days we are all looking for ways to save money and while it can be more cost effective to splurge on certain cosmetic items  there is no denying that there are some amazing drug store alternatives and dupes out there!

In this blog I will compare a really popular high end mascara to a much cheaper drug store brand.


Benefit ‘They’re Real’ (€26) 

Vs. 

Maybelline ‘The Falsies’ (€11.99)


They’re Real is the No.1 selling mascara in the UK but sometimes it can be the ‘brand’ and the hype rather than the quality of the product that sucks us consumers in so let’s compare both of these products and see if it is worth spending the extra money on the high end product…

Amount of product: With 9 grams of product The Falsies wins this one but only slightly as They’re Real comes in with 8.5 grams.


Longevity: Both mascaras lasted the recommended 6 months expiry period before drying out.


Packaging: Neither mascara has the most luxurious packaging but if I had to choose Benefit would win this one. If you are in the market for a great mascara with beautiful packaging I would recommend YSL Babydoll.


Verdict: Save

Although both mascaras live up to their promises, for me The Falsies pips They’re Real to the post. 
The curved wand fits into the shape of your eyelashes making it easy to get every single lash. It also curls, extends, volumises and thickens. 
They both do the same job so why bother spending an extra €14 on the high end option ? Don’t bother over spending on your mascara and give The Falsies a go.

With so many tans on the market claiming to be "the best tan ever" it's hard to know which ones are worth trying!  So many come with expensive price tags but that is not always an indication as to how true their claims are. When it comes to make up the most important part of my routine is the skin.  Yes I love a smokey eye, winged liner and perfectly arched brows but a flawless base is what brings any look together! In this blog I will tell you about the products I rely on to achieve that flawless finish.
